Notary service in Jenison. Walk in during hours.
We keep a notary on staff for client documents and for the neighborhood. Bring valid photo ID and the unsigned document.
Notary service at the Jenison office
We keep a commissioned notary on staff, primarily for client documents, and we make it available to anyone in the Jenison and Georgetown Township area during business hours. It is a small service, but finding one on short notice is more annoying than it should be.
Come by 511 Baldwin St between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Call first so we can confirm the notary is in the office rather than out on an onsite visit.
What to bring
Two things, and both matter.
- Valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification for every person signing. A Michigan driver's license, state ID or passport all work.
- The complete document, unsigned. A notary attests that you signed in their presence, so a document signed in advance cannot be notarized.
What a notary can and cannot do
A notary verifies identity and witnesses a signature. A notary does not review whether the document is a good idea, explain its legal effect, or provide legal advice. Those are separate questions, and for anything with tax consequences we are happy to look at it as an accounting matter.
Common documents we see include business filings, trust and estate paperwork, vehicle title transfers, and affidavits.
